I'm a web developer/designer working in the Boulder/Denver area. I specialize in Design and Development for web/mobile (tablet) experiences. Currently I've been using/learning the Drupal framework.
I offer over 15 years of experience with front-end design and development in interactive web, multimedia and richmedia. I have worked full-time for companies such as: Campbell Soup, Mullen, Pearson Education, Leopard/Ogilvy, Doubleclick and Google. I've contracted independently with many others.
For over three years I have been focusing on the LAMP stack and learning Drupal: Linux, Apache, NGINX, MYSQL, MariaDB, PHP, HTML5, AJAX, jQuery. As for Rich Media I've been transitioning from Flash (Flex, AS3) to HTML5, Edge.
Recent implementations have given me experience with Drupal including: Using the Form API with AJAX. Migrate submodule to import xml content. Multilingual rtl experience, working with revisioning, workbench moderation, voting, flagging and social media such as Facebook oauth etc.. Some modules include; CCK, Views, DisplaySuite, Context, Revisioning, Features, Facebook Oauth, i18n, Devel, Rules, uuid, VBO,etc. I build on profiles such as Drupal Commerce, Open Outreach, and Node Stream.
Back-end experience includes: PHP, AJAX, JSON, distributed Version Control GIT, shell scripts (Linux, Drush, Bash). I deliver on servers optimized for Drupal such as Aegir (Omega8) and Acquia.
Dev Environment: Mac OSX, also use Windows & Ubuntu usually in vbox for dev. Recently trying Vagrant (Aegir-up, etc) to create my machines.
Plan: I enjoy engaging users through dynamic and compelling user-centered experiences by leveraging my unique combination of aesthetic design sense and development skills. My process includes services such as: design, scope planning, user experience UX wireframes, use case UML diagrams, user interface UI design, module development, theming and implementation. I'm still updating my portfolio and will continue to build on my development and design capabilities.
After working for Google my wife and I decided to serve in Cambodia 2009-2012. We spent almost three years in SE Asia, where I was able to study new technologies and work for NGOs, including creating a dictionary building application to help preserve minority languages. My wife Kristin, as a licensed teacher, helped to start an international school for NGO and missionary children.
We were excited to return to Colorado in late August 2012 after learning that we were expecting a baby. The end of 2012 was a busy transition time while moving and getting new clients in Colorado.
OS History: 2012 I moved back to Mac. I started my career on a Mac in the mid 90s, and always had both Mac & Windows in my office for multimedia development. In the late 90s I started building NT systems for my 3D/video work (OS9 was bad). I now prefer OSX for its Linux Shell and gesture efficiency, but still use Ubuntu & win in vbox for dev.
